BUYING COMPARISON / SIZE & STRUCTURE

One Page vs
Multi Page Websites

Choose the structure that gives customers enough information to act. A focused page can be complete; a larger site earns its extra pages by answering different questions.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Choose by the questions.
Not by a page-count target.

ONE FOCUSED PAGE

A clear introduction
to one main offer.

Useful when the service, essential answers and contact route can sit together without making the page difficult to use.

SEVERAL PURPOSEFUL PAGES

More room for
different decisions.

Useful when services, prices or other buying information need their own substantial explanations and direct links.

What is a one-page business website?

A one-page website places the main business content on a single web page, organised into sections. A visitor can read the introduction, service details, useful answers and contact information without opening separate service pages. Navigation can take the reader to sections of that page.

It is a focused format, not an excuse to leave essential questions unanswered. The page still needs clear wording, accurate details and comfortable mobile reading. Our one-page website service explains the Starter option and the scope agreed before building.

What does a multi-page website change?

A multi-page site gives distinct topics their own URLs and space. A visitor can go directly to a service, compare packages or read about the business without moving through every other section. The navigation and internal links need to make those routes understandable.

More pages also mean more material to plan, approve and maintain. If several pages all repeat the same introduction, the structure has not added much value. Our small business website design service starts by identifying which customer questions need a separate explanation.

A practical comparison

Choose the format around your actual offer
QuestionOne page may fitSeveral pages may fit
How many substantial services? One main offer or a tightly related setDifferent offers with different buying questions
How much detail?Essential scope, process and answers stay readable togetherEach service needs a fuller explanation
How do visitors arrive? They mainly need a concise business introductionThey need a direct route to a specific service or information
What material is ready?A focused set of accurate facts and approved imagesEnough distinct content to justify the pages
What changes next?A first version with additions considered laterA known need for several service or support pages now

Two planning examples

A sole trader offering one straightforward service may need the scope, working area, process, essential answers and contact details together. If a customer can make an informed enquiry from that information, one page can be a sensible first version.

A business offering several distinct services may need different explanations, images and quotation questions for each. Separate service pages can give customers a direct route to the right information. These are planning examples, not claims about existing clients or a rule that every business of a certain type needs the same structure.

Consider search intent without assuming a ranking shortcut

A focused page can be relevant to a focused search. A site with separate service pages has more opportunities to explain genuinely different offers, but a page count by itself does not guarantee rankings. Clear content, relevant links and the usefulness of each page remain important.

Do not multiply pages only to repeat the same keywords. Ask whether a customer searching for that service would benefit from a separate explanation. A page with a distinct purpose is easier to plan and connect to the rest of the site than a collection of near-identical introductions.

Compare our actual Starter and Business scope

Our published website options
PlanPagesSetupMonthlyFirst year
StarterOne agreed page£99£39£567
BusinessUp to five agreed pages£199£59£907

Both include hosting and HTTPS, with a twelve-month minimum from launch. Starter includes up to fifteen minutes of small edits per month; Business includes up to thirty and help shaping copy from your brief. Allowances do not roll over. The written quote confirms the scope, taxes, outside costs and total payable.

The difference in the published first-year totals is £460. That compares our two packages, including their different page and support scope; it is not a market-wide price claim. Read the complete prices and inclusions before selecting an option.

Plan for growth without overbuilding

Starting with one page does not prevent a later expansion. We can quote for new pages once a service or useful body of content develops. The initial navigation should make future changes manageable, while the first version stays focused on what is actually needed.

If you already know several substantial services need separate explanations, building that structure from the start may be more practical. Extra pages and new functionality are separately scoped rather than assumed to fit within a small monthly-edit allowance.

Make the decision before choosing the look

List the questions customers need answered, group the related ones and identify the action they should take. If one page can answer those clearly, it is a reasonable starting point. If the groups require different detail, discuss a multi-page structure.

Return to the website planning guide, compare monthly and upfront payment arrangements, or send your website brief. The main Eastleigh website design page introduces the offer and service area.

Website structure questions

Is a five-page website always better than one page?

No. The useful structure depends on the services and customer questions. Extra pages should have distinct purposes rather than repeat the same content.

Does a one-page website automatically rank worse?

No automatic outcome follows from page count. A focused page can answer a focused search; separate service pages can provide more specific information where the business has distinct offers.

Can I begin with one page and expand later?

Yes. We can quote for additional pages and an appropriate wider scope. New pages are separate from the monthly allowance for small edits to existing content.
