When your website starts holding you back
You might have a site that was fine when you first started, but now leaves out half your services. Perhaps the photos are old, the contact form is unreliable or the text takes too long to explain what you do. On a phone, the navigation may be awkward and the important information hard to find.
A redesign begins with those practical problems. It is an opportunity to make the business easier to understand, rather than simply change the colours. For an Eastleigh service business, that could mean showing the right work, describing the areas you cover and making your contact options obvious.
Not every website needs to be replaced. Send the current address with your enquiry and tell us what frustrates you. We’ll discuss whether a focused update is realistic or whether a fresh build is the more sensible route. Any work on an existing platform needs its own assessment before we quote.
What a website redesign involves
First, we review the current pages with you. We identify what should stay, what needs rewriting and which information is missing. Existing search visibility, useful page addresses and valuable content deserve attention before anything moves.
Next, we agree the new structure. A focused five-page website might include a homepage, services, about, work and contact. A business with several distinct services may need more depth. The structure should follow the offer and customer questions, rather than an arbitrary page count.
We then design and build the replacement as a static website. That means the core content is available in the page HTML, with lightweight interactions where they help. Forms, menus and contact links should work on small screens without making the visitor work hard.
You review a private preview before launch. We ask you to check the services, prices, images, business details and any claims about experience or qualifications. The site needs to represent your business accurately. We will not invent testimonials, project results or local branches to fill a layout.
What does a redesign cost?
For a fresh build that fits the published scope, Starter is £99 setup plus £39 per month for one page. The first-year total is £567. Business is £199 setup plus £59 per month for up to five pages, with a first-year total of £907. Both have a 12-month minimum from go-live.
Moving a large website, importing an online shop, preserving complex integrations or restructuring many existing pages is additional work. These projects are quoted separately. If your redesign needs more than the standard plan, we explain that before the build begins. Compare the website plans and their inclusions.
Monthly care covers hosting and a defined allowance for small edits. It does not turn a standard build into an unlimited development service. Booking platforms, specialist email accounts, premium assets and external subscriptions are identified separately in your written quote.
Keeping a change of website organised
A new design should not casually discard useful addresses. Where old URLs are replaced, we prepare a redirect map to the closest relevant new page. We check important internal links, update the sitemap and make sure the intended public pages can be crawled.
Domain ownership, DNS access and email settings also need care. Before launch, we agree who controls the domain and which existing services must continue working. We do not change email records as a side effect of moving a website. Any migration steps depend on the current provider and the access available.
We check the enquiry route with you, including where messages are delivered. A technically working form is only useful if someone receives and answers the enquiry. We also check the mobile layout, visible contact details and the main links visitors use to make a decision.
Search visibility after a redesign
Our foundation includes clear titles, useful headings, crawlable content, descriptive internal links, appropriate schema and a sitemap. We organise copy around what you actually offer in Eastleigh and the surrounding places you serve.
These measures help search engines interpret the site. They cannot guarantee a particular ranking, immediate indexing or an increase in enquiries. Existing authority, competition, links and the quality of the offer all matter. A redesign can also introduce temporary changes in search visibility while pages are processed.
Ongoing SEO is a separate piece of work. If that is part of your goal, we can discuss which pages, queries and lead sources to measure and agree a scope. Routine monthly care and an active search-growth campaign are different commitments.
A clear process, with your business at the centre
- Share the current site. Tell us what works, what doesn’t and what a better website should achieve.
- Agree the brief. We confirm the page structure, content responsibilities, price and any migration requirements.
- Review the private build. You see the direction, check the detail and provide the agreed feedback.
- Prepare the changeover. We plan redirects, domain access and the contact journey before the new site goes live.
- Keep it useful. Hosting and your monthly edit allowance continue, with larger improvements quoted when needed.
A MORE ORGANISED MOVE
Keep. Improve. Change over.
Identify useful pages, agree what needs rewriting, then plan redirects and domain access before launch.
Before you request a redesign quote
Make a short list of the pages you want to keep, the services missing from the current site and the main problems customers report. If you have search-performance information, keep that available too. This gives the first conversation a practical starting point and helps us distinguish an essential fix from a wider rebuild.
Serving Eastleigh and the surrounding area
We provide website redesign for businesses across Eastleigh and nearby Hampshire, including Southampton, Romsey and Winchester. Your brief starts with the existing site, the changes needed and the services customers should understand. Check the complete service area or call 023 8001 5827 to discuss the work.
You do not need a perfect brief to begin. An existing website address and a few sentences about the business are enough for the first conversation. Tell us about your redesign, or explore small business website design if you are starting from scratch. Our Eastleigh website design homepage gives an overview of both routes.
